Diyarbakır (Ottoman Turkish: Diyâr-i Bekr 'land of the Bekr' as derived from Arabic. (Kurdish Amed) is a major city in the
Southeast of eastern Anatolia region, after Gaziantep. Within Turkey, Diyarbakır is famed for its culture, folklore, and
watermelons.

Mardin is a city in a rocky region in southeastern Anatolia. The city is mainly medieval in origin
and is situated on the slopes of a rocky hill, crowned by o fortress built on its citadel.
This barren stoney region around Diyarbaklr and Mardin stretches as for as Sanliurfa and
Gaziantep.
The city as a whole with its traditional stone, religious and vernacular architecture and its
terraced urban pattern is the best preserved example of Anatolian soil.
Deyrulzafaran Monastery is one of the living religious center of Syriandacobites in Mardin, an
impressive architectural complex in the Mesopotamian plain.

Sanliurfa, the Turkish city of prophets, lies
about 180 Km west of Kiziltepe, in the
southern Anatolian region. The city has a
great religious importance. According to
both the Bible and the Quran, the city is the
birthplace of Abraham, before he migrated to
perhaps a rare city that had been honoured
prophets like – Jethro, Job, Elijah and
Abraham. Sanliurfa was known as Edessa
in ancient times. The city also was the home
of Moses, who lived in this region for seven
years before returning to Egypt. The place
also showcases fusion architectural
marvels.
